Billy Gavigan is a U.S. Marine veteran, real estate developer, Principal of HG Group, expert consultant, community advocate and nationally ranked judoka whose work repeatedly begins where the circumstances are difficult and the outcome matters.
The through-line

Marine Corps service formed Billy's operating discipline. Real estate gave that discipline a new arena: land, capital, infrastructure, entities, contracts, homes, associations and people all moving at once.
After the 2008 market collapse stranded communities across the Southeast, Billy focused on development assignments that required more than buying and selling property. The work called for a renewed vision, functioning governance, capital, infrastructure completion, construction, branding, owner confidence and sustained market execution.
Today, as Principal of HG Group, he applies that experience to development, consulting, hospitality and new opportunities—with the same emphasis on preparation, accountability and completion.
Develop
A career spanning land, homebuilding, brokerage, master-planned development, association governance, infrastructure, hospitality and the hard work of bringing partially completed communities to completion.
Compete
A return to the international judo circuit, a No. 1 USA Judo ranking in 2024 and 2025 divisions, a 2024 U.S. Open title, a 2025 national championship and continued veterans-sport leadership.
